The majority of New Zealand schools were built during the 1950s - 1970s and many classrooms are still shaped as if it were that time - laid out as if children still learnt from blackboards with chalk, rather than from modern technology such as iPads.
This is an ineffective layout for a technology-based future - modern learning needs modern classrooms. This video showcases a fantastic innovative learning environment at Hingaia Peninsula School and shows how pupils and teachers have benefited from this stunning collaborative layout.
